SEATTLE – Drivers should plan for a closure of the Olive Way on-ramp to northbound I-5 on Saturday, Feb. 7. Crews plan to pour concrete to repair the wall above the ramp. Two buses damaged the wall on December 19, 2008 after sliding down an icy street.
The northbound I-5 on ramp from Olive Way will be closed:
- Saturday, Feb. 7 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
A signed detour will point drivers to the alternate Mercer St. on-ramp. This is noisy work, so crews are working during the day to eliminate noise for neighbors at night. The following weekend, crews plan to remove the framework that will hold the concrete in place while it dries. Drivers can check current traffic conditions on I-5 just south of the construction site by checking our traffic camera at Yesler Way: www.wsdot.wa.gov/Traffic/seattle/I5_yeslerway.htm#cam
