KEY PENINSULA – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) invites the public to a scoping open house for the State Route 302 Corridor Study Monday, Jan. 12. At the event, the public will have the opportunity to comment on the purpose and need for the project and alternatives being considered.

WSDOT is studying the SR 302 corridor from Key Peninsula Highway to SR 16 to address safety and congestion issues.

The study evaluates the environmental impacts of creating a new corridor and improving safety and mobility on the existing corridor.

At the open house, WSDOT project staff will be available to provide project information, answer questions and take suggestions from the public.

Meeting time and location:
4 – 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 12
Key Peninsula Civic Center
17010 South Vaughn Road KPN, Vaughn, WA

Scoping is part of the National Policy Environmental Act process where the scale of the project is determined. All comments must be submitted by Feb. 13 in order to be included in the official scoping report. Information gathered will be used to identify issues and impacts that will be addressed in the Environmental Impact Statement.
