PORT TOWNSEND – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Ferries Division announced that the Steilacoom II ferry will resume service on the Port Townsend/Keystone route tonight with the 6:45 p.m. sailing out of Port Townsend. Customers who already have reservations for sailings this evening will be given priority loading; all other traffic will be loaded on a first come, first served basis.

Service was cancelled earlier today after a problem with the Steilacoom II’s auxiliary generator required repairs to the electronic control unit. Crews were able to obtain the replacement part quickly, and the repairs have been completed earlier than anticipated.

WSDOT apologizes for today’s service disruption and thanks customers for their patience. For more ferry information, please visit the WSDOT Ferries Division Web site at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries.
