BLAINE – Drivers can choose the border crossing with the shortest lines by taking advantage of new border wait times provided by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The wait times are displayed on the Web and I-5 roadside signs, helping northbound drivers choose the crossing with the shortest wait times. There is one sign south of Bellingham that displays all four border crossing wait times, and one sign north of Ferndale that displays the I-5 and SR 543 wait times.
Wait times are available for the following four Whatcom County border crossings:
I-5 in Blaine – Peace Arch border crossing
SR 543 in Blaine – Pacific Highway crossing
SR 539 in Lynden – Lynden/Aldergrove crossing
SR 9 in Sumas – Sumas/Huntingdon crossing
Wait times can be found on the traffic camera Web pages in the blue boxes below the maps - www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/border/.
More detailed information about border crossing locations, hours and documents is available at www.wsdot.wa.gov/congestion/border.
