PORT ORCHARD – Utility work will close westbound Burley Olalla Road from Olympic Drive to State Route 16.

The roadway will close Thursday and Friday, May 15 and 16 this week, and Monday – Friday, May 19 – 23, next week. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The SR 16 exit to Burley-Olalla will remain open during the closure.

The closure is necessary for Puget Sound Energy and Qwest Communications to perform utility work in preparation for the new interchange project scheduled to begin in July.

During construction of the new interchange, and during this month’s utility work, all four lanes of SR 16 will remain open to traffic. Motorists can  access  Burley Olalla Road from SR 16 but access to SR 16 from Burley Olalla will be restricted to emergency vehicles.
