VANCOUVER – Installation of median rumble strips on SR 503 from Brush Prairie (milepost 4.68) to Battle Ground (milepost 8) will begin on Tuesday, May 13, announces the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The rumble strips are being installed to reduce the risks of median cross-over accidents on this stretch of highway.

During installation, motorists will encounter left lane closures in both directions on SR 503 from NE 154th Street to 219th Street. These left lane closures will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and are expected to last until Friday, May 16. Lane closures are necessary for the safety of work crews and the traveling public, as crews install rumble strips on the highway.

Advanced warning signs will be posted. Motorists are asked to pay attention to the warning signs and use caution when traveling through the work zone, as traffic fines double within a construction work zone when workers are present (RCW 46.61.527).
