SEATTLE- What’s new with the Alaskan Way Viaduct? WSDOT, King County, and the City of Seattle are hosting three open houses throughout Seattle starting this week to give an update on the project and listen to your comments on potential solutions for the viaduct along the central waterfront. Join us:

  • Thursday, May 8: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Downtown Seattle at Seattle Center in the Northwest Room/Lopez Room, 305 Harrison Street. Note that a central waterfront Stakeholder Advisory Committee meeting will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the same location.
  • Tuesday, May 13: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in West Seattle at Madison Middle School, 3329 45th Ave. SW.
  • Thursday, May 15: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Ballard at Adams Elementary School, 6110 28th Ave. NW.

Come learn about and comment on potential solutions for the central waterfront, including I-5, surface streets, transit, policies and management, and options for SR 99 along the waterfront.. We will also provide information about construction coming to the south end of the corridor this fall.

WSDOT, King County, and the City of Seattle will evaluate central waterfront options over the next six months so that Governor Chris Gregoire, King County Executive Ron Sims, and City of Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels can submit a recommendation by the end of 2008.
