DATE/TIME: January 31, 2008, 11 a.m.

DESCRIPTION: Snoqualmie Pass has received five feet of snow in the last five days. Due to the extreme winter conditions on the pass, Snoqualmie Pass will remain closed for at least the next 24 hours. Due to the wet, heavier snow, the avalanche threat has increased. Two feet of snow is predicted to fall by Friday evening. WSDOT crews are currently working around the clock to reopen the roadway. Please check the mountain pass pages for the latest information.

OTHER: Friday, Feb. 1, at 9 a.m. is the earliest WSDOT will be able to assess the effects of this storm and our ability to reopen Snoqualmie Pass. WSDOT will continue to update the Web page with the most current information about the conditions on the pass.
