BLAINE - Starting Friday, Nov. 23 the Canada Border Services Agency will close one southbound Highway 99 lane to U.S. bound drivers. Crews will pave the highway on weekdays.
The highway will be reduced from three lanes southbound to two lanes. One lane will be open for general purpose drivers and one for NEXUS approved drivers.
The work will last for one month and is approximately 1 kilometer from the U.S. border crossing.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternate border crossings to enter the U.S.
Highway 99 is the equivalent of I-5 north of the border.
