I-405 Construction Updates in Bellevue Oct. 26 – Nov. 2

BELLEVUE – Next week, drivers will begin to see the columns begin to rise out of the ground for the new bridge over I-90. Crews will continue repairing pavement on northbound and southbound I-405 in South Bellevue; widening the Coal Creek Parkway bridge; and performing electrical work. Crews will also continue to build retaining walls between 112th Ave SE and Coal Creek Parkway.

Construction closures affecting I-405 drivers in Bellevue the week of Oct. 26 – Nov. 2 include:

I-405 mainline

  • Sunday through Thursday nights, Oct. 28 – Nov. 1, crews may close up to three lanes in each direction on I-405 between I-90 and SE 8th Street from 8 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. each following morning to repair pavement.
  • Sunday through Thursday nights, Oct. 28 – Nov. 1, crews may close two southbound lanes on I-405 from I-90 to 112th Ave SE for electrical work. The first lane will close at 10 p.m., and the second lane at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m.
  • Monday through Thursday nights, Oct. 29 – Nov. 1, crews may close up to two northbound lanes on I-405 from 112th Ave SE to I-90 to widen the bridge over Coal Creek Parkway. The first lane will close at 8 p.m., and the second at 11 p.m. All northbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each following morning.

I-90 mainline

  • Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 29 – Oct. 31, from noon to 1 p.m. crews may close the HOV lane on eastbound and westbound I-90 near I-405 for electrical work and construction of the foundation on the new bridge over I-90.

I-90/I-405 interchange

  • Monday through Thursday nights, Oct. 29 – Nov. 1, crews will close the northbound I-405 on-ramps from eastbound and westbound I-90 from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning to repair pavement. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs.
  • Sunday through Thursday, Oct. 28 – Nov. 1, crews will close the southbound I-405 off-ramp to eastbound I-90 from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. to work on the new bridge over I-90. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs.

I-405/Coal Creek Parkway interchange

  • Monday and Tuesday nights, crews may close the right lane of the on-ramp from Coal Creek Parkway to southbound I-405 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for electrical work.
  • Monday through Thursday nights, Oct. 29 – Nov. 1, crews may close up to two eastbound or westbound lanes of Coal Creek Parkway under the I-405 bridge from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning to widen the bridge. At least one lane in each direction will remain open to traffic.
  • Tuesday through Thursday nights, Oct. 30 – Nov. 1, crews will close the northbound I-405 on-ramp from Coal Creek Parkway from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. each following morning for drilling. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs.

I-405/112th Ave SE interchange

  • Monday through Thursday nights, Oct. 31 – Nov. 1, crews will close the on-ramp from 112th Ave SE to northbound I-405 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning for paving, striping, and placement of barriers. Drivers should look for and follow detour signs on I-405 and local streets.
