BATTLE GROUND - The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will host a fifth community open house for the SR 502 Corridor Widening Project Wednesday, September 26, from 4-7 p.m. Local residents, business owners and property owners are encouraged to attend the event at the Battle Ground High School cafeteria, 300 West Main Street.

At the open house, participants will have an opportunity to review the details of the on-corridor alternative, learn about the project’s next steps, and provide comments.

There is no formal presentation, so guests can come any time between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

After considering several alternatives to create a wider, safer SR 502 from I-5 to Battle Ground, WSDOT will widen the existing corridor. The decision was made after a variety of alignment alternatives were developed and analyzed, and the community had an opportunity to review and comment on them. The final design will add two additional travel lanes and include median barriers to separate the highway.
