SEATTLE – Next week the Washington State Department of Transportation will update the SR 520 Executive Committee and public on progress toward constructing a new floating bridge and improvements on the east and west side of Lake Washington.

  • Executive Committee Meeting: Tuesday, June 26, 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., Museum of History and Industry, 2700 24th Avenue East, Seattle. The meeting agenda is available on the project Web site.
  • Public Open Houses: Tuesday, June 26, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Bellevue High School, 10416 Wolverine Way, Bellevue and Thursday, June 28, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Stevens Elementary School, 1242 18th Avenue East, Seattle

The SR 520 bridges and structures are vulnerable to earthquakes and windstorms, and need to be replaced. The new SR 520 will keep drivers safer, improve reliability for people crossing the lake, provide a new lane for transit and high occupancy vehicles, and support future high capacity transit on the pontoons.
