GIG HARBOR – Leonard Wright from Tacoma won a year of free tolls from the Good To Go! program when his account number was drawn on Tuesday, May 15. One of more than 12,000 people who were entered in the drawing by establishing their Good To Go! electronic toll accounts, Wright was excited to learn of his luck. “I use the Tacoma Narrows Bridge several times a week, so this is definitely a valuable prize to me,” noted Wright, who is in the real estate profession.
This was the first of five monthly drawings designed to encourage customers to sign up early for Good To Go!. The sooner drivers establish accounts, the more chances they have to win. Drawings will be held on or around the 15th of each month from now through September. Details of the contest rules are available online at www.wsdot.wa.gov/goodtogo or by calling toll free (866) 936-8246. The drawing was conducted under the oversight of the Washington State Lottery.
In addition to Wright’s winning entry, 30 additional drivers walked away with $50 gasoline cards. They include: Gig Harbor winners Jerry Argenzio-West, Michael Bowling, Jed Demers, Mary Franco, Paige Fury, Mark Galligan, Susan Jones, Richard Latimer, Irene Lewis, Carol Meier, Terry Nelsen, Kenneth Pim, Carol Pinkerton-Ewens, Charles Schwartz, John Sears, Eileen Sonnier-Bell, and Meadow Wright; Port Orchard winners Elmer Bell, Gary Chifford, Janet Hinson, Matthew Nelson, and Robert Straavaldson; Longbranch winner Kim Westlin-Schoenberg; Fox Island winner Doris Allmer; Tacoma winners Klarry Heiberg and Ruth Smith; Lakewood winner Glen Wilcox; Puyallup winner Louis Torre; Seattle winner Shidan Greene; and Bellevue winner Susan Sloane.
“Those who want to be entered in next month’s drawing need to sign up for Good To Go! by June 14,” explained Jessica Yasenchak, Good To Go! customer service manager. “Next month, another lucky winner will walk away with a year of free tolls and 30 others will receive $50 gasoline cards.”
Good To Go! is easy to get and use – and signing up only requires a minimum of $30 on the account that is valid for future toll use. Good To Go! uses a small transponder that adheres to the inside of a vehicle's windshield. An antenna mounted over the roadway detects the Good To Go! transponder and the system automatically debits the correct toll from the Good To Go! customer’s prepaid account, allowing the driver to maintain highway speeds. Customers can access their Good To Go! account information online at any time and will be sent monthly statements of activity by e-mail or mail.
