KIRKLAND – Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will continue building noise walls and performing highway construction work in Kirkland next week. If weather cooperates, they also plan to restripe lanes and install signs. Construction closures affecting I-405 traffic the week of Jan. 12-19 include:
Interstate 405 mainline
NEW – Crews will close the right northbound lane between NE 85th Street and NE 116th Street between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day Monday, January 15 through Wednesday, January 17 to install signs.
NEW – Crews will close the right southbound lane between NE 116th Street and NE 85th Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day Wednesday, January 17 through Friday, January 19 to install signs.
NEW – Drivers should expect closures of up to three northbound lanes and three southbound lanes near NE 116th Street one night between Sunday, January 14 and Thursday, January 18 while crews restripe lanes. The first southbound lane will close as early as 7 p.m., and the first northbound lane will close as early as 9 p.m. with up to three lanes closed by midnight. All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning. Since dry pavement is required for striping, work will be done on the first dry night.
NEW – Crews will close the northbound HOV lane near NE 116th Street between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning on Monday, Jan. 15 to repair damaged guardrail and barrier.
Crews need to close lanes and ramps for WSDOT’s Kirkland Nickel Improvement Project construction. For more information or to sign up for e-mail updates, visit: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/i405/KirklandNickelStage1/ .
