SEATTLE – This Sunday, November 26, thousands of runners will take to the streets for the Seattle Marathon. To accommodate the race, WSDOT crews will close several freeway off-ramps and modify the express lane schedules for I-5 and I-90.
Closures:
- The I-5 Express Lanes will be closed until 9 a.m.
- The I-90 Express Lanes will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- The westbound SR 520 exit to East Roanoke Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- The northbound I-5 exit to Lakeview Boulevard will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- There will be no left turns from the I-5 Mercer Street/Fairview Avenue exit to southbound Fairview Avenue from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The exit will be open, but the two left turn lanes will be closed, forcing all traffic to turn right onto northbound Fairview Avenue.
- There will be no left turns from the southbound I-5 Boylston Avenue exit onto Roanoke. Traffic can go right to Eastlake Avenue or south on Boylston, which leads back to southbound I-5 or turns left under I-5 to Lakeview Boulevard.
Drivers should choose alternate routes if possible and expect delays at the affected exits. For more information on other special events and road closures in King County, visit the Construction Update: www.wsdot.wa.gov/Northwest/King/Construction.
