Interstate 405 mainline

  • UPDATED – Weather permitting, crews will open a new northbound I-405 lane between NE 85th and NE 116th streets by Monday morning, Nov. 6.
  • NEW – Weather permitting, beginning Tuesday the southbound HOV lane will cross over the median between NE 124th and NE 116th streets and travel in a barrier-separated lane for approximately one mile. Drivers entering southbound I-405 from NE 124th Street will not be able to access the HOV lane. Drivers in the southbound HOV lane will not be able to exit at NE 85th Street. The HOV crossover will be in effect until May 2007.
  • UPDATED – Expect nightly closures of up to three lanes in each direction through Kirkland for restriping, moving barriers and work on the NE 128th Street Bridge. The first lane will close as early as 7 p.m. each night. All southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each morning, all northbound lanes by 6 a.m.
  • UPDATED - Expect periodic closures of the northbound and southbound HOV lanes between NE 124th and NE 132nd streets Monday through Friday. These closures protect drivers as construction vehicles enter and leave the median work zone.

Kirkland streets affected by I-405 construction

  • UPDATED - Expect weekday lane closures on southbound Totem Lake Boulevard near NE 128th Street from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. to protect drivers as construction vehicles enter and leave the median work zone.
  • NEW - On the first dry night, crews plan to re-stripe lanes on Totem Lake Boulevard near NE 128th Street. Motorists should use extra caution when driving through the work area.
  • 116th Ave. NE is reduced to one lane in each direction at the NE 128th Street intersection for several weeks as crews rebuild the intersection. Flaggers will assist construction vehicles entering and leaving the work zone and will direct pedestrian traffic.
