WSDOT Names Denys Tak New Kelso Area Engineer

KELSO – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is pleased to announce the promotion of Denys Take to Kelso Area Engineer, effective October 16, 2006. This position was vacated by Leon Winger, who accepted a promotion to Southwest Region Local Programs Manager.

Tak graduated from the University of Washington and has worked for WSDOT for two years. Up until his promotion, Tak was the Assistant Area Engineer for the Chehalis Office, managing construction projects in Lewis County. Before joining WSDOT, he worked for the Department of Natural Resources for 14 years.

“I am pleased to announce Denys Tak as the new Kelso Area Engineer. He has demonstrated excellent leadership and project management skills during his time in the Chehalis Area Engineering Office, and I believe he will bring the same to the Kelso office” said Bart Gernhart, WSDOT Southwest Region Engineer.

“I look forward to working with the Kelso team, delivering projects in the area to the public on time and on budget,” said Tak.

WSDOT’s Kelso Area Engineering Office is responsible for designing and constructing transportation projects on state highways and interstates located in Cowlitz County, Wahkiakum County and parts of Pacific County. The office also oversees project construction by private companies, utilities and cities or counties that impact state highways.
