RENTON – WSDOT invites the community to attend the Renton Nickel Improvement Project Environmental Assessment (EA) Public Hearing on October 26 from 4-7 p.m. at the Renton High School Cafeteria (400 South Second Street, Renton).   WSDOT will present results of the EA and receive comments from the public.

WSDOT issued the EA on October 2 for the I-405 Renton Nickel Improvement Project, which will widen I-405 between I-5 in Tukwila and SR 169 in Renton and add one southbound lane on SR 167 between I-405 and SW 41st Street.  The EA describes the results of environmental analyses for 19 study areas, including noise, economics, cultural, water quality, and wetlands.

The public may provide comments at the hearing or send comments to WSDOT.  All written comments received or postmarked by November 10, 2006 will be included in the formal project record considered by the Federal Highway Administration and WSDOT.  Project comments should be submitted in writing to the I-405 Project Environmental Manager, Allison Ray:
