SHINE – There will be intermittent closures on the State Route (SR) 104 Hood Canal Bridge from Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 14 - 16, for maintenance crews to conduct bridge inspections.
The bridge will close to vehicle traffic during parts of the inspection and motorists may be delayed up to thirty minutes.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time if crossing the bridge during the work hours 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 14 -16.
WSDOT engineers perform detailed bridge inspections twice a year as part of a preventative maintenance program. Keeping the bridge in good working condition provides drivers with a safe, reliable bridge. The work is not weather dependent.
Average weekday traffic across the Hood Canal Bridge is approximately 15,000 vehicles.
