POULSBO - Motorists may experience travel delays at State Route (SR) 307, (Bond Road) and the Gunderson/Stottlemeyer Road intersection next week while crews apply new asphalt and striping.

The work is scheduled for completion within fours days. Roadwork is planned for daytime operations from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Aug. 28 through Thursday, Aug. 31. During construction, traffic will be restricted to one lane, alternating traffic.

On Monday Aug. 28, the scheduled day for paving the intersection, the side streets of Gunderson and Stottlemeyer will be closed for up to 30 minutes to allow the asphalt to harden. Motorists using the intersection should expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

Ace Paving Co. was the low bidder for this project at $89,765. The paving and striping work is dependent on dry weather and completes a traffic signal installation project started last fall.

This section of SR 307 carries an average of 13,000 trips per day. Once completed, motorists will experience a smoother ride, and increased visibility of the lane markings within the intersection vicinity.
