SNOHOMISH – The Washington State Department of Transportation wants to hear the public’s questions and concerns about a project to improve traffic flow and safety along State Route 9 between 176th Street SE and Marsh Road.  WSDOT will host an open house Tuesday, August 29, to introduce plans for improving SR 9.

5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 29
Valley View Middle School
14308 Broadway Avenue
Snohomish, Washington

In 2008, WSDOT will begin construction on projects to relieve congestions and improve safety along this heavily-traveled section of SR 9.  Specific improvements include:

  • widening the roadway to four lanes
  • improving intersections at 164th Street SE, 152nd Street SE, SR 96 and Marsh Road, and Marsh Road/Airport Way/Springhetti Road
  • increasing lighting at intersections
  • adding interconnected traffic system cameras and signals at selected intersections.

At the open house the public can view displays of planned improvements and talk with project engineers.  WSDOT also wants to hear from people who can’t attend the open house. The public can contact Project Engineer Dawn McIntosh by phone at (206) 440-4957 or by e-mail at mcintod@wsdot.wa.gov with questions or concerns about this project.  For more information on the project, visit the WSDOT Web site: www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/sr9.
