YELM - WSDOT will host an open house and formal access hearing concerning the State Route (SR) 510 Yelm Loop project at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Yelm Middle School Commons.
Designers, engineers and other WSDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and discuss the project at the open house. Project maps, plans, and aerial photographs will be on display.
The open house will be followed at 6 p.m. by the access hearing, which is expected to last two hours. The hearing will provide an overview of the project and give members of the public an opportunity to express their opinions on access control issues. A court reporter will take statements that interested parties wish to make for the public hearing record.
The proposed SR 510 Yelm Loop is a 4.2-mile, two-lane highway with a 45 mph posted speed limit. This new roadway will reduce traffic impacts in the City of Yelm and allow traffic to move more efficiently between Spanaway, Roy and McKenna in Pierce and Thurston county destinations.
Yelm Middle School Commons is located at 402 Yelm Avenue West in Yelm. The public is invited and attendance is not required at the open house to participate in the formal access hearing. Light refreshments will be provided.
