(Seattle)  Washington State Ferries will be celebrating summer with the return of the afternoon summer concert series, "Picnic at the Pier" beginning this Friday, June 30th, at Colman Dock in Seattle from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

This first concert, will feature the calypso/reggae sounds of Andy O, who will be entertaining commuters, Mariner fans and folks dining at the terminal, eating alfresco at tables set up outside on the passenger level of the terminal.

"The Pier is a great place to come and grab a late lunch or early dinner with friends or co-workers while enjoying good music and summer on the waterfront", says Jayne Davis, Regional Operations Manager.

Food vendors at Colman Dock include Matt's Gourmet Hotdogs, CandyLane, Caffe Appassionato, Commuter Comforts Caf and Wine Bar, World Wrapps, McDonald's and Colman Dock News.

Next month, on Friday, July 28, Whidbey Island's Shifty Sailors, will entertain folks with songs of the sea and folk lore as well as humorous ferry songs. The popular calypso steel drum band, The Toucans, returns on Friday, August 25.

"We want Colman Dock to be more than a ferry terminal," explains Davis. "We want our terminal to be a great place to eat and be entertained, while enjoying the sights of the waterfront, which always includes our ferries. Last year, commuters were dancing to the music as they boarded the ferry and smiling with the entertainers. We hope to continue the energy of summertime and music at the pier this year."

Each concert will last from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the passenger level at Pier 52 in Seattle.
