CARBONADO - Daytime traffic impacts can be expected as the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) continues its roadway preservation work on SR 165 near Carbonado. The project is expected to begin late June and last through the summer.

The project contractor, Woodworth and Company Inc., will pave nearly seven miles of SR 165 from the community of Carbonado to the junction with SR 410 in Buckley. The project will also realign the SR 162 and SR 165 junction into a 'T' intersection.

Most of the work will be done during daytime hours Monday through Friday, except during holidays. During working hours motorists will be guided through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists may experience delays of 20 minutes during the daytime hours.

In selected areas, crews will work during nighttime hours, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., at Gale Creek, and the SR 165/SR 410 intersection. The paving work is weather dependent.

WSDOT's roadway preservation project will increase intersection safety and create a smoother ride on SR 165.
