WOODINVILLE – All lanes of State Route 9 will be closed just north of Woodinville this weekend as WSDOT and contractor Wilder Construction crews install a large sewer pipe for King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division. WSDOT is managing the installation of the sewer line because it is taking place within the limits of WSDOT's SR 9 Widening project.

Closure
SR 9 will be closed at 233rd Place SE (just north of SR 522) from 10 p.m. on Friday, June 23, to 5 a.m. on Monday, June 26. This work is weather dependent. WSDOT and Wilder Construction will review weather forecasts on Wednesday, June 21, and decide whether to proceed.

During the closure, traffic will follow a signed detour route using SR 522 and SR 524 (Maltby Road).  Drivers should plan ahead and expect lengthy delays on SR 522, SR 524 and SR 9.

A detour map is available on the SR 9 Widening project Web site: www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/SR9/sr522_212thst.

During the closure, crews will install a 166-foot-long section of local sewer line 17 feet under the roadway. King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division is funding the project, which is needed to increase capacity in an existing sewer line. This work must be completed now so crews will not have to dig up the newly widened lanes at a later date.
