Get A Free Ride To Bremerton's
Armed Forces Day Parade
May 20 Parade is Longest-Running in Nation
(SEATTLE) Men and women with the U.S. Armed Forces - active, retired or reserve - will be able to walk-on and ride the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton free of charge on the morning of Saturday, May 20 to view Bremerton's Armed Forces Day Parade. The offer also applies to children and young adults (under 18) if walking-on and accompanied by an adult (paid or armed services personnel).
Bremerton's Armed Forces Day parade draws tens of thousands of people and is the longest continually running Armed Forces Day event in the nation. It is one of only seven Armed Forces Day events to be officially recognized by the Department of Defense.
The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Bremerton. Prime viewing locations are available within just a few blocks of the ferry terminal. Parade organizers expect well over a hundred floats, bands and dance teams, from military and non-military organizations.
Members of the Armed Services - active, retired or reserve - will be asked to present their service identification at the passenger ticket booth at Colman Dock (Pier 52 on the Seattle waterfront) to receive free walk-on passage. Children and young adults may be asked for photo ID to prove they are less than 18 years of age. This offer will be available only on the Seattle-Bremerton ferries, on the 6:00 a.m.; 7:35 a.m.; and 8:45 a.m. trips to Bremerton on Saturday, May 20.
There is no fare collected for walk-on passengers on the return trip to Seattle. The Seattle Terminal (Pier 52) is wheelchair accessible.
It is important to note that this offer is good on Saturday, May 20 on the Seattle to Bremerton ferry route only and is for walk-on passengers only; not for cars and drivers.
Passengers with questions should call 1-888-808-7977 or visit the WSF website at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries.
