(SEATTLE) Music will return to the Seattle waterfront this summer when two different concert series bring new excitement to the Washington State Ferry Terminal at Pier 52.
Sponsored by the ferry system and the Terminal's Upper Deck Food Court Vendors, both concert series will feature Northwest Bands, food, and fun at a venue that enjoys a spectacular view of the water.
Date night will have a whole new look with the introduction of an evening series of concerts, called Party at the Pier. Concert-goers can dance to music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The concerts will be family-friendly with no alcohol allowed but there will be plenty of food for sale as vendors from the Upper Deck at Pier 52 will be on hand, selling dinner and snacks to the crowd. These monthly concerts will benefit Northwest Harvest, and a donation at the door is suggested. The seating is limited so concert-goers are encouraged to arrive at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30-10 p.m. concerts. There is plenty of parking in the waterfront area but there will be no parking at Colman Dock for the event.
The second concert series will be Picnic at the Pier, a Friday afternoon entertainment returning to Pier 52 for its second year. Held the last Friday of the month, Picnic at the Pier features musical groups playing on the upper passenger level near the Marion Street Passenger Bridge. These concerts are free. Music will start at 3 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. Music lovers and "Thank Goodness it's Friday" celebrants can grab a late lunch or early dinner from the many food options available at the Upper Deck food court in the ferry terminal.
