VANCOUVER – Two lanes of I-5 northbound, just south of Woodland near the North Fork Lewis River bridge will close tonight at 7 p.m. for emergency pavement repairs, announced the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The two lanes will remain closed through 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The middle lane of I-5 northbound will remain closed until 10 p.m. Saturday night, May 13. Motorists should expect delays on this two-mile stretch of I-5.

The lane closures are necessary for emergency pavement repairs. The pavement in this area has been rapidly deteriorating, and WSDOT crews have been working to patch damaged pavement road surface. This area is part of the I-5 Concrete Rehabilitation project.

A reduced speed limit is in affect. The speed limit has been reduced to 60 miles per hour in this work zone.

Advanced warning signs will be posted during the lane closures. Motorists are asked to please pay attention to the warning signs and use caution in the area. Motorists are also reminded that all traffic fines are doubled within a construction work zone when workers are present (RCW 46.61.527).
