VANCOUVER – The I-5 single lane closures in the Hazel Dell and Salmon Creek area scheduled for Feb. 8-9 have been extended through Friday, Feb.10, announced the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The area of I-5 impacted by the lane closures includes the southbound right lane of I-5 from N.E. 78th Street to N.E. 63rd Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. One lane will also be closed on the N.E. 78th Street southbound on-ramp during these hours. If traffic is heavy in the morning hours, the lane closures will be delayed until congestion slows.

The closure is necessary for the wiring of the Intelligent Transportation System Traffic Cameras. The installation of the cameras is part of the I-5 widening project.

Advanced warning signs will be posted ahead of the closure, and motorists are reminded that all traffic fines are doubled within a construction work zone when workers are present (RCW 46.61.527).
