GORST - The Washington State Department of Transportation will reduce southbound State Route 3 to one lane near Gorst on Sunday, Dec. 18, to remove several buildings next to the highway.
During the demolition work, WSDOT will reduce southbound SR 3 to one lane approximately one-fourth of a mile north of the community of Gorst. The lane closure is expected to begin at 7:30 a.m. and the work should be completed no later than 3 p.m.
WSDOT has decided to remove the buildings, purchased during a previous project acquisition, because they have become a liability and safety concern.
In addition to removing the house, two storage sheds, a garage and carport, WSDOT will also remove a mobile home on the property.
For more information contact Elba Richards, WSDOT property management supervisor, at (360) 704-3261.
