PORT ORCHARD - The Washington State Department of Transportation will reduce the speed limit along a 1 1/2-mile section of State Route 160 (SE Sedgwick Road) on Thursday, Dec. 15.

The speed limit will be reduced from 40 to 35 miles per hour from where SR 160 intersects with SR 16 to milepost 1.56 (Brasche Road SE). The reduced speed limit is intended to improve safety along the roadway, which is the primary route from SR 16 to the Southworth Ferry Terminal.

The Washington State Patrol concurred with this reduction and will be enforcing the lower speed limit.

For more information contact Steve Bennett, WSDOT traffic operations engineer, at (360) 357-2673.
