CHEHALIS - After two years of study, concept development and public involvement, the Environmental Assessment for the I-5, Rush Road to 13th Street project is now complete and available for final public review and comments, announced the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
This project will improve safety and mobility by widening both directions of I-5 between Rush Road and 13th Street in Chehalis to three lanes in each direction. The project also will improve the economic vitality of the Port of Chehalis by constructing a new I-5 interchange at LaBree Road.
The public comment period for the Environmental Assessment started on August 31, 2005, and continues through September 30, 2005. An open house has been scheduled to present the completed Environmental Assessment to the public for review and comments, and project staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
