YAKIMA -  Kuney Construction will be installing temporary signals on the Nob Hill Blvd/SR 24 bridge over I-82 from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29. Red flashing lights will alert motorists to stop at the intersections, and flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists wanting to use the SR24/ I-82 interchange to access the interstate or travel between Yakima and Moxee may want to choose an alternate route to avoid delays.

There will be no lane restrictions on I-82 this week.

Project Description: This project widens SR 24 by adding one lane in each direction from I-82 to Riverside Road. The interchange will be reconstructed and wider bridges will be built over I-82 and the Yakima River. Intersections at the two-ramp terminals, South 22nd Street, and South 33rd Street (Riverside Road) will be improved. The Nob Hill Lane and Keys Road intersections will be closed. A new pedestrian/bicycle path will cross I-82 and the new Yakima River Bridge, to provide a connection to the Greenway and continue as a 12-foot wide pathway to Riverside Road. Max J Kuney Company of Spokane, WA is the prime contractor on this project. This highway improvement is funded by the 2003 Transportation "Nickel" Package.
