WSDOT Aerial Photography - A Cost Recovery Operation

The Aerial Photography Branch is tasked to acquire dynamic, timely, high definition aerial images on film negatives. We maintain and continuously expand the archives and currently have over 500,000 images on file.

Our Branch responds to requests from all levels of local, state, federal and tribal governments under the terms of the Washington State Inter-local Cooperation Act, (RCW 39.34). We also assist the general public in obtaining existing historical and current images for their use in a multitude of applications.

The funding of our operation is on a cost-recovery basis as we operate with revenues generated from the products we produce. 

The DNR has partnered with the WSDOT Aerial Photography Branch and has become the sole source for the DNR and the DOT imagery archives.  

Our staff of six people are trained in the many aspects of aerial photography, image resolution and custom printing. 

We offer the highest level of knowledge, experience and customer service to all of our customers and we are available in the office Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, year round (excluding holidays).
