WSDOT Aerial Photography - A Cost Recovery Operation 

The Aerial Photography Branch of Geographic Services is operated as a business within the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The revenues we generate from the services and products we produce are used to recover our cost of operation and arrive at a zero balance of dollars at each biennium end.

We provide our customers with direct access to the single largest aerial image archive in Washington State government. We maintain and continuously expand the archives and currently have over 500,000 images on file. 

We respond to requests from all levels of local, state, federal and tribal governments under the terms of the Washington State Inter-local Cooperation Act, (RCW 39.34). We also assist the general public in obtaining existing historical and current images for their use in a multitude of applications.

Our staff are trained in the many aspects of aerial photography, image resolution and custom printing. We offer the highest level of knowledge, experience and customer service to all of our customers. Contact us Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., year round (excluding holidays).
