About This Byway
Loop is a 28o-mile drive that circles the rugged Selkirk Mountain Range in Washington, Idaho and British Columbia. The Washington portion follows the Pend Oreille River. Water is at the heart of the appeal of the Selkirk Range and key to human settlements. Travelers can experience outdoor recreation and the colorful history of Native Americans, explorers, hardy settlers, gold seekers and loggers.
