ARRA Accountability

I-90 Pavement Restoration
Stimulus funded project, I-90 Slide Curve to Cabin Creek Pavement Restoration

Our commitment
WSDOT is committed to accountability and transparency, and has made performance reporting a high agency priority. WSDOT’s reports on its delivery of the 391 2003 Nickel and 2005 TPA gas tax projects exemplify that commitment, as well as its ability to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget.

Federal reporting
WSDOT is providing detailed reports on how Recovery Act funds are invested and the results citizens can expect. Washington State has submitted accountability reports to the Federal Highway Administration and U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which are available on WSDOT’s Federal Reporting page.

No Surprises Reporting
WSDOT is going beyond the federally required reporting. WSDOT will provide the same project-specific reporting as it has on the 2003 and 2005 gas tax projects through reporting in the Gray Notebook (GNB). The quarterly Gray Notebook combines quantitative and narrative reporting, and keeps the public informed of projects’ successes and challenges through its “no surprises” approach. The first Recovery Act report is included in the most recent edition, pp. 62-65.

Regular program updates are also available via email. Stimulus News You Can Use is a weekly newsletter designed to keep transportation stakeholders on the fast-moving effort to put people to work and improve the state’s infrastructure. Each edition will have information on project delivery and highlights. Sign up to receive the e-mail updates at the newsletter page
