The Governor’s office has created a Reauthorization Workgroup, with representatives from cities, counties, ports, tribes and other stakeholders in our transportation system. The group met twice over the summer of 2008 to give updates on the state's process for developing priorities and to get updates on each organization's internal process and recommendations to Congress. Based on feedback from leadership in Congress, the state spent the summer drafting policy position papers on issues likely to be important in the new legislation.
