Historical Revenue & Economic Data

WSDOT uses numerous economic variables in forecasting transportation revenues each quarter. The historical dataset of economic variables has both quarterly and annual data starting in 1970 quarter 1 and 1971 annual through 2016. Some of the key economic variables in forecast models are the following: Washington personal income, annual population, US inflation measures (implicit price deflator, consumer price index and construction cost index), US oil and gas price index, US fuel efficiency and employment (non-agricultural, trade, transportation and utilities and retail).
