Do I have to make a reservation?

  • Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak travel times.
  • Customers without reservations will be able to travel as standbys. There will be limited standby spaces available on any given sailing.
  • At peak travel times, expect long waits for standby travel.

If I have a reservation, when do I need to arrive at the terminal?

  • You must be processed through the tollbooth or by a WSF staff member at the remote holding site no later than 30 minutes prior to your reserved departure time.
  • WSF encourages you to purchase your ticket(s) in advance to ensure faster processing at the tollbooth.
  • During peak traffic times, vehicles may be routed to a remote holding site prior to going to the tollbooths. WSF staff will ask if you have a reservation and direct you accordingly.

What happens if I arrive late?

  • If you are not processed through the tollbooth or by a WSF staff member at least 30 minutes in advance of your scheduled departure, WSF cannot guarantee you a space on your reserved sailing.
  • Your reservation will not be honored, and you will be directed to the standby vehicle line.

What happens if I arrive early?

  • Due to limited terminal holding capacity, WSF cannot accommodate customers for long periods of time.
  • If you arrive more than 45 minutes early, WSF will accommodate you at the terminal if possible.
  • You may be asked to leave the terminal and return at a later time.

What happens if WSF is running behind schedule?

  • If necessary, WSF will post updated departure times.
