Watershed Characterization Reports
A technical team has been working to develop watershed characterization studies. Reports available at this link include the watershed characterization methods document and reports on completed watershed characterization studies and ongoing work.
TPEAC Watershed Mitigation Subcommittee
The goal of this subcommittee of the Transportation Permit Efficiency and Accountability Committee, or "TPEAC" was "to facilitate the development of a watershed-based approach to environmental mitigation for transportation projects with potential applicability to other processes; to develop methodologies for mitigation on a watershed basis at appropriate scales that meets multiple agency criteria for permitting." The subcommittee also worked on integrating watershed alternative mitigation policy into regulatory documents. After the March, 2006 sunset of TPEAC, this subcommittee disbanded; however, many of the initiatives pursued by the subcommittee live on.
Transportation Project Mitigation Cost Screening Tool
The Transportation Project Mitigation Cost Screening tool helps transportation planners identify proposed projects that may benefit from the application of watershed-based mitigation.
Alternative Mitigation Policy Guidance for Aquatic Permitting Requirements
When habitat impacts occur and reconstruction of the same type of habitat is not possible at or near the project site, this policy provides guidance for evaluating alternative types of mitigation that may occur within a watershed.
