WSDOT's Wetland Guidelines provides:

  • Technical guidance to address wetlands on WSDOT projects for WSDOT staff and consultants.
  • Consistency across WSDOT regions and modes.
  • A central location to access the latest technical tools, templates, and information for delineation, mitigation, construction, monitoring, and site management of wetlands.

These guidelines are developed by WSDOT's Wetland Mitigation Technical Group (WMTG), a problem-solving forum for staff from each of WSDOT's regions and headquarters.  This guidance is updated regularly as tools are completed or revised.  To articulate WSDOT's positions, the group also produces guidance papers, located throughout the Wetland Guidelines webpages.
