Noise Study Data Requirements

The following plan sheet, layout and traffic information for mainline, cross streets, arterials and ramps are necessary for noise studies to be performed. Electronic files are preferred.

Plan Sheets:

  1. Existing and proposed alignment.
  2. Existing and proposed channelization.
  3. Existing and proposed roadway profiles.
  4. Proposed jersey barriers or guardrails.
  5. Sedimentation ponds, regrading, and clearing limits.
  6. Cross sections. 15 m intervals.
  7. Existing and proposed right of way.
  8. Contours, showing homes and businesses within 150 m of the R/W.
  9. Existing and proposed walls.

Traffic Data:

  1. AM and PM peak hour traffic for existing and design year for all alternatives including Build and No Build. Depending on the project, additional hours may be required.
  2. Traffic vehicle mix (percentages) for existing and design year.
    • Automobiles
    • Medium Trucks (6 tires - AASHTO Class 2D)
    • Heavy Trucks (more than 6 tires)
  3. Posted speeds and driving speed during peak hour for all roadways.

Map with legend showing the various zoning throughout the project limits. For example: commercial, residential, agricultural, etc...
