Does WSDOT have flagging jobs?

No, WSDOT does not hire flaggers. All flagging jobs are contracted out to private industries that specialize in traffic control. We do provide online resources for people interested in both attending classes to become a certified flagger and current companies WSDOT uses for projects around the state.

Does WSDOT have a list of non-permanent jobs?

No, however the WSDOT does hire non-permanent employees to fill various vacant permanent and project positions. If you are interested you may submit your WSDOT Employment Application to the Headquarters’ or Regional Office of Human Resources.

In addition, WSDOT has an On-Call Pool that consists mainly of clerical positions within the Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater area. If you are interested in working in the On-Call Pool, come to the HQ's Building on the 1st or 3rd Thursday of each month from 2pm to 3pm for an informal informational session.
