Known as the recreation capital of the state, North Central Region is headquartered in Wenatchee, located at the foothills of the Cascades on the Columbia River.

Three of the five major cross-state mountain passes are included in NCR, as are major environmentally and culturally sensitive areas, rivers, and streams.
