Molly Blake has been at the Olympic Region of WSDOT since 2002, promoting from the Headquarters Maintenance Office. Describing all of her job duties is a little difficult, so she simply states “everything!” when asked what she does most.
Besides supporting Region Administrator, Kevin Dayton, she works with: Project Development, Communications, Program Management, Project Management Support and Training “and that’s it!”
Jamie Swift, public information officer who works nearby Molly everyday said “she is the backbone of this region.”
Before working as the executive assistant, Molly’s first WSDOT position was in Chehalis Maintenance. She said she really enjoyed that position and that it was very fun.
Watching Molly work you can see she is extremely busy, and she admits that her position is always fast-paced. “It’s very rewarding,” Molly said. “I get to help someone every day, and it is nice working with such a great group of people.”
There isn’t really too much of a change in her workload between seasons and Molly said she has something to do year-round.
Besides being an excellent resource in the Olympic Region, Molly is also a great person to talk to. She has a lot of spark and seems to always be in a pleasant mood.
Outside of the office, Molly and her husband have five cats and two dogs. Molly lists working outdoors and on cars as activities she and her husband do for fun. She is most proud of her 1927 T-Bucket Hot Rod.
