Andrew Lau is a HQ employee working out of the Corson Avenue office in Seattle. He is responsible for managing the real estate activities of the South King County projects for the Urban Corridors Office. Andrew came to WSDOT in 1990 after working for a bank in California. He applied for a position as a Right of Way Agent Trainee without knowing what a Right of Way Agent does. His family thought he was directing traffic at intersections.
Andrew has come a long way since that time. He has been involved in property acquisition, relocation and property management. He has become skilled in dealing with property owners and other people affected by our projects. Andrew has a job that he loves. He is challenged every day in delivering right of way for the UCO projects. Finding solutions and getting the job done is where he gets his satisfaction.
Andrew’s supervisor, Jim Salter, says, “Andrew is a very motivated individual. He is very organized and able to keep track of all parcels and issues. If I need information, I know that Andrew has it and can get it for me almost immediately. I have come to rely heavily on Andrew since he came to UCO a little over three years ago.”
