Chapter 720 of the WSDOT Design Manual provides guidance for the impact attenuators that are used by WSDOT.

For new (permanent) installations, the following systems are approved for use by WSDOT:

• CAT-350
• Brakemaster 350
• QuadTrend 350
• Universal Tau-II

For both new (permanent) installations and Work Zone (temporary) installations, the following systems are approved for use by WSDOT:

• QuadGuard, Wide Quadguard
• QuadGuard Elite
• REACT 350, REACT 350 Wide
• Inertial Barrier (Sand Barrel arrays)
• SCI100GM, SCI70GM

For Work Zone (Temporary) installations, the following systems are approved for use by WSDOT:

• ABSORB 350
• ADIEM 350
• QuadGuard CZ
• REACT 350 (Work Zone)
• N-E-A-T
• TRACC
• Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA)
• Triton CET
• QUEST

Older systems that that have been installed in the past that are no longer approved by WSDOT for new installations:

• Sentre
• TREND
• G-R-E-A-T
• LMA
• Hex-Foam Sandwich
