This design uses lumber and plywood and can be readily disassembled and moved to another site. The ramp and platform have a raised edge (approximately 6 inches high) on the side to alert and guide people with vision impairments using canes for way-finding.
No specific bid item or contract provision for the use of this temporary sidewalk ramp has been developed and may not be necessary when the contractor on a project is responsible for providing work zone traffic control.
