DIVISION9.GR9 MATERIALS 00.MR9 DEFINITIONS AND TESTS (April 1, 2002) Include in all Metric projects. Must also use INTRO.AM1, INTRO.MR1, 0202.MR1, 0901.MR1, 03038.MR6, 02.MR7, 0202.MR7, 04.MR7, 0402.MR7, 04031E.MR7, 004.MR9, 06.MR9, and 0605.MR9. 004.MR9 Sieve Analysis of Aggregates (April 1, 2002) Include in all projects. Must also use INTRO.AM1, INTRO.MR1, 0202.MR1, 0901.MR1, 03038.MR6, 02.MR7, 0202.MR7, 04.MR7, 0402.MR7, 04031E.MR7, 00.MR9, 06.MR9, and 0605.MR9. 03.GR9 AGGREGATES 0308.GR9 Aggregates for Hot Mix Asphalt

03082.FR9 HMA Test Requirements (January 5, 2004) Include in all projects using HMA. Fill-in (number of ESAL's) is included in the pavement design report. (1 fill-in) 03087.GR9 HMA Tolerances and Adjustments (April 5, 2004) Must also use 040308A1.GR5 and 040502A.GR5. Use in projects with Volumetric Acceptance of Hot Mix Asphalt. 03020.GR9 Test Methods for Aggregates 03020A.GR9 Statistical Aggregate Specification (August 2, 2004) When to use Statistical Aggregate Specification: This General Special Provision is an alternative to aggregate acceptance for unbound materials. The items which it may be used with are Crushed Cover Stone & Crushed Screening, Ballast, Shoulder Ballast, Crushed Surfacing, Maintenance Rock, Gravel base, Gravel Backfill for Foundation Class A, Gravel Backfill for Foundation Class B, Gravel Backfill for Walls, Gravel Backfill for Pipe Zone Bedding, Gravel Backfill for Drains, Gravel Backfill for Drywells, Backfill for Sand Drains, Sand Drainage Blanket, Gravel Borrow, Select Borrow, Foundation Materials Class A, Foundation Material Class B, Foundation Material Class C, and Bank Run Gravel For Trench Backfill. What this specification does is to recognize the variability of these materials and documents a procedure to adjust the payment for these items based on the Quality Level provided. In the past this would have required a Change Order. The process is particularly suited for production of aggregates stockpiled for use on future contracts or aggregates to be used on current contracts. A bid item "Aggregate Compliance Price Adjustment" needs to be included in the contract. 06.MR9 STRUCTURAL STEEL AND RELATED MATERIALS 0605.MR9 Bolts (April 1, 2002) Include in all projects. Must also use INTRO.AM1, INTRO.MR1, 0202.MR1, 0901.MR1, 03038.MR6, 02.MR7, 0202.MR7, 04.MR7, 0402.MR7, 04031E.MR7, 00.MR9, 004.MR9, and 06.MR9. 06016.GR9 Roadside sign Structures 06161.GR9 (Perforated Steel Square Sign Posts) (August 2, 2004) Use in projects with perforated steel square sign posts. 14.GR9 EROSION CONTROL AND ROADSIDE PLANTING 1404.GR9 Mulch and Amendments 14048A.GR9 Compost (August 1, 2005) Must use once preceding the following: 140481.GR9, 140482.GR9 140481.GR9 (Compost) (August 7, 2006) Use when installing compost in areas receiving less than 10 inches of mean annual precipitation. (This information can be found on the WSDOT HQ Hydraulics website and must be determined when doing the hydrological analysis at the beginning of the project.) 140482.GR9 (Compost) (August 1, 2005) Use when the contract has less than 100 yards of compost, or less than 30 working days and 100 yards of compost or greater. 14062.GR9 (Conservation Grade Material) (August 7, 2006) Use in projects that include “conservation grade” plant material in the plant list. Use requires approval of the Region Landscape Architect or HQ Region Liaison Landscape Architect. 28.GR9 SIGNING MATERIALS AND FABRICATION (April 4, 2005) Use in all projects that have steel sign support structures. APPENDIX1.FR9 APPENDICES (July 12, 1999) Must be used when only one appendix is included. Must be used with 010201.FB6 when the Log of Test Borings is the only appendix included. (1 fill-in) APPENDIX2.FR9 APPENDICES (July 12, 1999) Must be used when only multiple appendices are included. If 010201.FB6 is used, the Log of Test Borings must be included as part of the fill-in.
