Traveling to Canada but don't feel like driving? Getting there is just as easy with Amtrak and Washington State Ferries.

Amtrak Cascades is poised to expand daily rail service between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C., from one run to two. Washington State Ferries is working with Tourism Victoria to create travel packages that would allow B.C. visitors to travel to State Ferries destinations in Washington.

Expanding the Anacortes-to-Sidney, B.C., ferry run is also under consideration. The Anacortes ferry arrives in Sidney, B.C. on Vancouver Island. B.C. Ferries has a run that leaves from the Swartz Bay terminal in Sidney and arrives on the mainland in Tsawassen, just south of Vancouver, B.C.

Bellingham Amtrak station

The Bellingham Amtrak station is located in Fairhaven, in south Bellingham.

Directions: From I-5, take Exit 250 and travel west on SR 11/Old Fairhaven Parkway. Turn right onto Finnegan Way, then turn left onto Harris Avenue. The station will be on your right at the end of the street. For more detail, see the map below.

Ticketing hours are 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 1 to 4:30 p.m. daily. Paid short-term and overnight parking is available.

Anacortes ferry terminal

The Anacortes ferry terminal is located at the end of Ferry Terminal Road, off SR 20.

Directions: From I-5, take Exit 230 and travel west on SR 20 until you reach Anacortes. Turn right on Commercial Avenue. Continue through the business district and turn left at 12th Street. Follow the signs to the terminal. For more detail, see the map below.

Passenger ticketing is open inside the waiting room from 8:20 a.m. to 8:25 p.m. on Fridays, and from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. All other times, tickets are available at outside ticketing kiosks. Paid short-term, monthly and seasonal parking is available.
